Paintings of Places

A Noisy Time-Capsule!

This album is a collection of works I made on my journey of becoming a noisier and more improv-heavy artist. They’re not in any chronological order, and exist as a cloud-snapshot of a particular season of my artistic development. Most of the pieces are edited and processed recordings of found sounds or no-input mixing board improvisations.

As a pushback against the experimental music tendency to call everything “untitled,” each of these pieces has two titles, both of which relate to places and concepts which remind me of these recordings. In keeping with that theme, the album cover was made by glitching out a painting (of a place) made by Thomas Moran, circa 1875.

These pieces and more are all available for free on my personal bandcamp page, https://spaceblender.bandcamp.com/. The name spaceblender comes from a joke my dad made about my music tastes, which I figured would make as good a name as any other!
